This set of 10 question cards has been designed to offer breadth and depth to Kindergarten gifted and high potential learners in The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia v2.0, Outcome 2.  However, they are easily adapted to any educational setting.
 
These cards are intended to replace the set class tasks.
 
Please remember, due to asynchronous development or additional learning needs, they may require support with executive functioning skills such as organisation, time management, defining and achieving goals as well as other skills like reading, writing, researching, accessing resources etc.
** Due to the hands-on nature of these tasks, an adult such as a parent, carer or aide is recommended to be available to support the students if the teacher isn’t able to.  Graphic organisers for experiments, board game creation and the design process are available for free to download to assist students to work independently and to provide scaffolding.
 
** It should be noted that no ‘end products' are suggested on these cards.  This is to take into account the needs of gifted learners who benefit from choice in how they demonstrate their understanding and present their findings, preferably to a real world audience.  They may also have a suggestion for a different task that relates to the content descriptor so allow time for them to explain.  If you’re in need of ideas for what students could produce, download the free ‘End Products’  list available.
